"a harsh discordant mixture of sounds."
Tell me we're not being bombarded by discordant thoughts, opinions, and advice?
In today's media, we hear more than we read. Sounds attack us from every direction, Cable TV, Live Streaming, YouTube, Podcasts, Radio, and gossip in the supermarket. We don't know what to believe or who to listen to.
We're in desperate need of reliable mentors, experts to guide us through the conspiracy theories, fake news, and that favorite meme, "you've taken my words out of context".
We think the pandemic is catastrophic, the election result unsettling, and life as we've known it fading.
All true, but wait a minute, back up, take hold, and consider the reality.
Unless you're one of the unfortunate ones, a patient suffering from COVID-19 or another serious health problem or related to a patient, you have much to be thankful for as we approach the holiday season.
We live in America, the best option on earth in spite of her bumps and bruises. We have dedicated health care, we have friends and family who love and respect us, we have warm homes, healthy food, great music, and endless entertainment and education options. We have poetry, literature, and on-line museum tours. We have movies, sports, and adventure series. We have board games, Tik-Tok and Zoom. Come on, what else do you need after Tik Tok?
We have promising vaccines on the way from reliable companies.
So quit your complaining, suck it up, wear. a mask, observe social distancing, and listen to the experts, not the politicians.
They'll be inconvenience, discomfort, and confusion but we'll get through this Bermuda triangle and come out the other side healthier, smarter, and more compassionate.
The economy is in the ditch, but help is on the way, stay strong, stay positive, and stay hopeful. We, as Americans, are in this together, and the company couldn't be better.
